THIS BLOG IS TO TELL YOU ALL ABOUT PEOPLE LIKE ME WHO ARE KNOWINGLY CALLED AS CA STUDENTS IN MODERN POST INDUSTRIAL SOCIETY…….
Firstly I will tell you story ,once a boy was walking over the roads on the way back to his home ,he met his old school teacher on the way and he started asking the one and only mangoos question “thambi, neenga enna panniringee??”.he replied that”doing ca”(note the point never a ca student pronounce the word studying ca).”ohh, which year thambi”;his master never let him go.
You know this situation very well, if you are a ca student .You need to explain everything about the course to each and everyone. Most of used to escape by saying I am into 2nd year or 3rd year of ca. Actually the people around us doesn’t have any knowledge about the course especially in the rural areas. I had a lot of experience of getting a command about ca like this,” it is very difficult to pass but once you qualify you just put some sign and get the remuneration”. And one more thing is that auditing is not so popular in the rural areas, all they hear is just bank audits mostly co-operative banks and they will have govt departments to do that.
Our pathetic situations never stop; our institute is the first thing we need to rebuild. Although we have the value of IIMs and IITs, and we are better than our friends ICWAI and ACS , our education system needs to be improve a lot. We still follow the private tuition centers, where we get much better classes than institute. And the situation of ,most reputed ca faculties taking classes at ymca groung is not so far, we wll experience those if this system continues.
Our myths about valuation and pass percentage is pervasive(wish it is a myth). But I still doubt about the transparency of the valuation and result, we need to implement proper reliable methods like getting the copy of valued papers to the students. And the major myth which needs to be changed is that pass percentage fixation. I hope it will be different in the coming years(again a threat they are going to take back the 15 min provision) .
The major reasons why this ca course we can’t express as years or stages is we never know that whether we are going to the other stage in the first attempt. So we safely say there are three stages and we are into inter or final (because of changes in the name of courses frequently we prefer to say inter than; ipcc, pcc,pe ii; the thing is that we can find students doing all of this). The major barrier lies in the confidence of the students. We are never been confident about writing exams and I have seen more students registering for writing both groups of inter and end up with writing only upto the first tough exam or only one group, which is the major reason for lower pass percentages. If the first tough is accounts , which is probably the first exam and results in giving up the other exam because of accounts hangover. Even the system of giving exemption(above 60 in any subject will be exempted for the next attempt even if you fail in aggregate) couldn’t avoid these things.
I believe that this is the only course that you can say I am a ca student even if you are into your 5th attempt of cpt entrance(I think our president heard this a lot he is going to take back the provision for graduate students). This resulted in people taking ca course if they don’t want to hear the mangoos question “:thambi enna pannreenga:CA”, eventhough they are not doing any graduation or work.
Our course is a correspondence course in general,it is intended for self study eventhough we spend a lot for tuitions. The major part of ca course is articleship training, where we work as an assistant of a qualified ca holding COP (certificate of practice). As per the new course , we need to start articleship only after finishing atleast first group of inter. Still we go for tuitions in the early morning and make our parents to say that it is so hard. And most of the students of ca don’t have the chances of enjoying their college days and if they are doing both together the seriousness toward the ca will be affected.
The answer for most of the questions lies in starting an identifiable, united and compulsory classes at least up to inter level which will make us confident of writing exams. And as it is all about choice, we need to be careful and serious about the course which will give a prosperous future, may be far better than an engineer who is spending lakhs for their course and getting very less, as the investment towards ca is affordable. And without any doubt we can say that we are the best in the business of learning even though we need to improve. Let us hope for the best in the future so that atleat we can temper those mangoos question………….
